Formerly known as Nusajaya, Iskandar Puteri (IP) was launched in 2007 as one of five flagship zones of Iskandar Malaysia — the country’s foremost emerging economic zone.
IP is spearheaded by UEM Sunrise and Iskandar Investment, two local development entities working closely with the Iskandar Regional Development Authority. The goal is to help realise Malaysia’s most ambitious integrated development project to date.
Planned with sustainability as a priority, IP is envisioned to become Malaysia’s most connected and livable city by 2025. Offering a harmonious living experience by integrating selected commercial, industrial, recreational and residential developments, the city’s an exceptional place to work, live and play. IP scored global attention in 2012 by obtaining the Best Masterplan Award at the FIABCI Prix d’Excellence Awards.
Due to its affinity for eclectic happenings and public art projects, IP is rapidly becoming the region’s culture and entertainment hub. During last year’s 10th anniversary, 34 public art installations and 138 cultural events took place, attracting visitors from all over the ASEAN region.
IP’s proximity to Singapore is the reason for its surging economic growth. Strategically located at the crossroads of the East-West trade lanes, IP’s two international airports and five seaports keep the city within minutes from Singapore and a few hours by air from Asia’s economic powerhouses.
A city that has it all.
